In June 2022, a group of 70 riders will cycle from Ayr on the west coast of Scotland, back to Aberdeen on the east coast. Their route is approximately 240 miles and 4600 metres of climbing.
With my history of one upmanship, I was left as last man standing after a game of route planning chicken to complete the following:
I will cycle from Aberdeen to Ayr to Aberdeen to Ayr to Aberdeen This route is a total of ~900 miles and ~18,000 metres of climbing, and I shall be riding it solo, and self supported, as well as camping along the way.
I will be following the same route as the other riders as closely as I can. They will depart Aberdeen on the 2nd of June to travel to the start location of Ayr. I will begin my challenge on the same day. and aim to finish on the 5th of June. Yes, you read that right.
This is a pretty monumental undertaking but I am doing it for a great cause. Every £1 you donate will be matched by my employer (plus giftaid!), so please give generously to this poorly thought out endeavour.
You will be able to track my progress live through a satellite tracking link (Tracking Link). If you would like to come join me and lend me some company even for a short part of my journey, It would be gratefully received.
