Hi everyone!

On the 18th June I will be one of three men in a boat that will take part in the Eddystone Sailing Pursuit Challenge.

This is a 26 mile race from Plymouth Hoe to the Eddystone Light and back, with the purpose to raise money for charities.

Our boat will be racing to support Horizons Children's Sailing Charity.

This charity exists to enable disadvantaged, disabled and other deserving children to engage in challenging and fun activities in the marine environment of Plymouth. They enable over 1,000 children and vulnerable adults to sail each year. Around 3,000 sailing and powerboat sessions are delivered annually by fantastic staff and volunteers.

My dad is a regular volunteer for Horizons and I've also been out sailing with them while visiting, and have seen the good that they do and the value they add to people's lives. Its fair to say that, without Horizons, most of the children and adults they support would not have the oppourtunity to sail and enjoy the water around Plymouth, despite the city's rich maritime heritage.

Horizons is not a large charity and relies on small donations to fund itself so anything you donate would have a direct impact on allowing them to continue... however small, it all helps!
