About Sleep Out 2021
For the last seven years the Eden Project has hosted an annual Sleep Out outside the Biomes, raising thousands of pounds for homelessness charities St Petrocs and the Amber Foundation. Last year, restrictions meant 84 participants slept out in their own garden or their lounge floor, and managed to raise around £10,000 for the two charities. With government guidance now allowing for crowds to gather, with proof of vaccination and/or a negative PCR or Lateral Flow Test, Eden is once again opening its doors for the real life, Sleep Out experience in 2021. On the night, participants are invited to ‘sleep rough’ underneath the canopy of the Link Building between our Biomes to get a feel for what it's like to be a rough sleeper - if only for one night.
