Team Fundraisers
So... Phil had this crazy idea to sign us up for the Bath Half this year. Crazy.
Completely out of shape (Christine that is) we have signed up to the gym last July and made a fitness plan to start running again. And we've stuck to it. We take turn in waking up before dawn every morning and hit the gym, working around our busy working parent schedule. By September, I (Christine) was able to run 5K and we decided we should have a goal. I didn't mean a big race but Phil went for it and signed both of us for the Bathhalf. Crazy, that's a lot of 5Ks.
After months of training, we feel we can do it, we worked for it, we feel ready.
Since the Bathhalf is a fundraising event we have decided to support a charity that plays an important role in our everyday life since we have moved to Bath in 2017: First Steps Nursery. It is the nursery where Alice went for about 2 years, followed by Oliver who happily spends 5 days a week in the care of a fantastic team. Truly brilliant people. But the organisation needs help raising funds to continue to deliver their services that are so valuable to families and for our local community. First steps is not just a nursery. They work closely with parents to help them back into education, training and employment. This is particularly important in the pockets of deprivation within our local community.
First Steps is also dedicated to providing free healthy meals for children of low income families. You can donate to that cause here: https://localgiving.org/appeal/healthymeals2019/
