You had me at yellow...

You may have heard of the 13 that are cycling across Wales to raise money for the Speakeasy... Well, we are 'the support team', travelling in a trusty yellow kangoo, equipped with tents, bike spares, and good good vibes... Now. Wouldn't it be funny if we managed to raise more money by driving this friendly yellow frame, than the 13 do by cycling?! (Perhaps this would put an end to you being pestered once a year with their sponsor forms!?! Perhaps you, like us, are just tired of all the lycra!?!) In all seriousness, though, the Speakeasy is a fantastic cause. For 25 years the centre has been providing expert and independent legal advice to some of the most vulnerable and marginalised people in Cardiff and across Wales. They help people to challenge unfair decisions that would otherwise leave folk homeless or destitute. They hold landlords to account to make sure people have safe and secure places to live. They take carrier bags full of bills that people are too scared to open and help them renegotiate and write off their debts. They help people get control of their energy bills and keep their homes warm. They replace broken washing machines, cookers and boilers and make sure families in crisis can access emergency food. This sponsored trip begins May 4th, and stops through Hay-on-Wye, Borth and Llandovery before heading back to Speakeasy HQ in Cardiff on May 7th. Sponsor if you want to speak up for justice.
