Andrew was born on 27 July 2014. Unknown to us, he was to have a stormy start to life. Rushed to York Special Care Baby Unit on birth, they were fantastic and helped him survive (separate fundraiser to come).
Andrew is now doing great and York Down Syndrome Association have helped us immensely, just as they do hundreds of other Yorkshire parents. We wanted to raise some money to make sure future families in York who find out their baby has an extra surprise can get the same support we did.
So Andy and Jacob, Will, Aidan and I thought, "what can we do in the middle of winter to raise some money?"
Paddling our motley collection of floating (hopefully) craft across Scotland from the Atlantic Ocean to the North Sea was the answer.
So please support all of us and some great causes. Not only does every penny raised go straight to charity, it is multiplied:
£10 donation to York DSA
£10 match funding to York DSA
£2.50 Gift Aid to York DSA
And then Network Rail match your donation again, to CLIC Sargent, who support children with cancer.
So a small donation can make a big difference. (And if you are feeling really, really generous please be generous in £10 chunks to maximise the match funding!)
