In late September I’ll be taking part in a charity cycle across the Golden State Mountains of California! In a group of 4 we'll begin in Yosemite National Park, passing through granite peaks and forests to ultimately end in San Francisco.
The ride itself is a 400km, 5 day journey, consisting of camping and cycling through Yosemite National Park. The route will take us down the Pacific Coastal Road through farmlands and small communities, ending on a 60km stretch of woodland which will get the team onto San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.
This year I’ll be representing and fundraising for the Heart of Experian charity. This is a fund setup through my workplace which provides support to local charities and organisations across London. Last year, the fund contributed to building Homeless shelters and Community centres in Peckham, South London. This year, the plan is to build more shelters, whilst also distributing funding to sustainable growth garden projects. The overall aim is to allocate all funds raised to community driven projects, distributing them in a way which enables the charities to become sustainable! It really is such a good cause and covers such a diverse group of charities, whilst also ensuring that all selected charities see every penny of the money donated!
Any donation is greatly appreciated, but it's worth mentioning that Experian, the business I work for operate a match funding model. The more money I receive in donations will result in more money matched to go towards the local charity projects!
