Think you can't cycle? Think again! A unique inclusive cycling opportunity for Cambridge and the surrounding areas to show that cycling is for everyone! Our amazing project team of adults with learning disabilities are developing their own self confidence and life skills while also contributing to their community, supporting others to have a go at cycling too.

Why they need our service

You Can Bike Too started with the dream of one man, Aaran, who wanted to be able to cycle just like the rest of his family. Aaran's "impossible" was that he couldn't cycle a standard two-wheeled bike. He had visited a project in London to cycle on a trike for the first time but still wasn't able to cycle regularly at a local venue. He teamed up with Ruth, a keen cyclist, and together they spread the work to see who was interested. The evidence was clear! Cambridge had a big appetite for cycling!

Plan and expected results

Aaran's dream is now a team. Since 2011, Aaran and Ruth have recruited a project team, developed a strong partnership with Milton Country Park, raised funds for over ten bikes based at the Park, and trained the first group of cycling instructors. Aaran is now a regular volunteer helping to get the site and volunteers ready for group cycle sessions. The team are raising funds to recruit and train enough instructors to have the bikes in use throughout the week!
