We work hard to ensure that people do not suffer through lack of knowledge of their rights and responsibilities, or of the services available to them, or through an inability to express their needs effectively.

We support and empower individuals and their families to make informed choices to help solve their personal issues. We provide volunteering opportunities for all members of the community. Our services are available Monday to Saturday - 46 hours per week (main office) through a number of easily accessible means, such as email, telephone, face to face, home visits and community outreach centres. In 2009/10 we: - Contributed over £10 million to the local community through our Debt work - Dealt with almost 4,300 Debt cases - Obtained almost £5 million in financial gains for the people of Gateshead - Dealt with over 5,000 Benefit claims - Helped local people claim £9 million worth of Benefits - Prevented 94 local residents being evicted and becoming homeless - Avoided hundreds more from reaching this stage through timely Debt assistance - Provided 787 home visits
