We will run a football club called "Gipton Juniors". The project will provide a safe place where young people can further their self development, for example by promoting personal responsibility, team work, leadership, healthy eating, fitness and self-esteem. We aim to break down barriers within the community and to combat racism directly in a multicultural neighbourhood using a multicultural team. We give young people at risk of offending an equal opportunity to participate in football.
Why the community needs usOur project has a huge impact on the community as families have the chance to get together and bond with their children and other members of the community. By attending our sessions gives their child a healthy well-being, which in turn gives a healthy mind. Our project diverts young people from crime and anti-social behaviour, this refrains a high amount of young people from smoking, drinking alocohol and use of recreational drugs. We bring together different ethnicities within the community.
Our impact on the communityGipton Juniors has contributed too many positive results and outcomes, largely to divert young people away from smoking, drinking alcohol and use of drugs, which in turn prevents crime and anti-social behaviour. Positive results include, healthy young people, and contributes towards their future careers and choice of lifestyles. Many of our young people comes from deprived backgrounds which could divert towards crime, many outcomes we achieve is young people turning thier back on a life of crime
