we are a self-help disabled group whose ages ranges from 18-74 years old. Our aims are: *For us,the disabled,to go out & use the community *To learn lifeskills, build confidence & be as Independant as we can be *To give our families (carers) a 10-12 hours break from caring *To provide volunteers with experience We provide training activities and a social life eg: bowling, day trips, pictures, shows, allotment, training holidays, livestock handling, training classes - art, computer,reading/writing etc

Why the community needs us

The benefits to the community are: *More Independent and confident disabled people who have more say in their community. *More rest for their families(carers) so they can have a life outside caring so they can care for longer. *Older volunteers have a role in training so gives them a purpose and a social life *Jobless while volunteer can retrain which helps when looking for a job. *Disabled and abled-bodied working together We have an allotment with geese, ducks, chickens which is a big hit.
