Hillside Clubhouse is a resource for people with mental health problems that makes social inclusion and participation in everyday life a reality. Getting a paid job, having a social life and going to college are the norm for many of our members. We aim to maximise our members' (service users') opportunities by helping build life skills to equip them to become more socially included in mainstream activity. Members work in partnership with staff to deliver daily services and take decisions.

We work to ensure that our members are equipped with life, work and social skills to participate in mainstream community life. The Clubhouse Model provides holistic suppport to increase self esteem and confidence in our members and we also work to reduce mental health stigma. The Clubhouse also has a number of projects including a snack bar retail outlet where members are employed and an external catering project which provides an exciting menu of food and drink options for local businesses.

Last year 265 individuals used our service and gained employment skills on the Clubhouse programme. In addition to this 117 members also undertook mainstream training in a number of diverse areas including CIEH Food Hygiene, NVQ Customer Care, SIA Security Industry Training, NVQ Catering, Core Foundation for Teaching Development etc and 48 members were supported into paid employment. Around 40 members were employed on our catering or retail projects & we won a catering contract with the council.
