Wythenshawe | Counselling, Advice & Mentoring
Home-Start Manchester South is committed to promoting the welfare of families with at least one child under the age of 5. Our volunteers offer support, friendship and practical help to families under stress and in so doing help to prevent acute family crisis and breakdown.
Why the community needs usHome-Start believes that children need a happy and secure childhood and that parents play the key role in giving their children a good start in life and in helping them reach their potential. The scheme works to ensure the safety and well-being of children and their parents within Wythenshawe and the Central West and South areas of Manchester.
Our impact on the communityIn 210/11 Home-start supported 94 families. Of the 94 families, there were 217 children supported. 62 of these famiies ceased support in this year, 100% of the families reporting that they felt less isolated, 91% reported raised self esteem and 76% reported an improvement in their wellbeing.
