We provide emotional, pratical, advocacy & signpost support to families within the Stafford Borough who have at least one child under 5yrs. We recruit, train and match volunteers with parental experience to families in need. The volunteers visit in the family home for a minimum of 2 hours per week. The families are supported for as long as progress is being made, the youngest child reaches 5 (dependent on the circumstances) or the family has achieved the goals agreed throughout the process.

Home-Start Stafford and District focuses on positive parenting, healthy lifestyles, escaping poverty and social inclusion. Our volunteers support parents practically and emotionally to change their and their childrens' lives for the better through life experience, signposting, motivation and caring. Our volunteers don't 'do things for' the families they work with but rather help the families to find ways to do things for themselves, increasing confidence to go from I can't do to We ARE doing!

We have helped families battling addiction to turn their lives around. Supported Mothers who were victims of domestic violence to relocate and rebuild their lives. Our volunteers support families with children with disabilities to access vital help to enable full lives for their children. Many of our families have parents with depression, we offer emotional support and practical help to access activities. Our volunteers help parents of large families to access medical appointments.
