We aim to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by MS, Parkinson's Disease, Stroke or other neurological conditions. We provide support, advice, complementary therapies, physiotherapy, exercise equipment and classes to help members manage the symptoms of their illness. We have recently started helping young children affected by Cerebral Palsy and Autism, demand for this service is steadily increasing.
Why the community needs usWe support the local community by providing a meeting place for people with neurological conditions such as MS, so that they can gain support from their peers. We refer people to a free personal health trainer so that they can receive support to achieve a healthier lifestyle. We provide space so that the local PCSO's can hold community surgeries and have recently helped them and a group of teenagers with a Princes Trust initiative. We also provide meeting space for other community groups.
Our impact on the communityThe Centre provides support to over 1,000 people in the Cambridgeshire area. We provide over 5,000 treatments and therapies a year and offer more than 200 free exercise classes. As a result people attending the centre enjoy a better quality of life. They are more positive about their future and lead a more independent life. The physiotherapy sessions and exercise classes enable people attending the centre to maintain their mobility and therefore stay in work for longer.
