“The Frome 10K is part of the Wiltshire Road Race League in 2021. The charity partners for 2021 are the amazing folks at Active and In Touch Frome (A&IT) and the Frome Activities & Sports Trust (FAST)”
I had booked a place but, for medical reasons and the numbers involved, I was advised not to join in so I ran it last Sunday instead. Given today’s scorcher I’m relieved!
A&IT is a charity I’ve been committed to since it began 10 years ago. This 10th year the group received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (cf. an MBE) as it addresses the problems of loneliness and isolation in society.
The scale of work has increased exponentially in the past 18mths and this year offers a huge opportunity to build upon the important foundations which have been laid. Funding for local charities presents one of the greatest challenges they face (£50k annually for A&IT).
If you are able to support A&IT that would serve as a huge encouragement – and make even sweeter the memories of my run a week ago! If you are able to Gift Aid the donation this would be hugely appreciated.
