Karate Community Fund. This is a group that responds to the needs of all ages and ethnic backgrounds where extra karate training is needed. It provides funds for training courses, competition entry and equipment when needed.
Why the community needs usThe Karate Community Fund gives access to training courses and competition entry by paying for the events that students of Great Bridge may not be able to afford. It also provides equipment for the use in their training. This hopefully will encourage the local community to be involved in some form of physical activity.
Our impact on the communityAs of the present time the group has funded training for students in the various areas of their karate training. With some students going on to compete against other clubs in a kata competition. We have also funded students to travel down to the south coast to complete a course in knife awareness and defence, a highlight for the students so far has been the group funding a training session with Sakagami Sensei 8th Dan a highly respected authority in Wado Karate.
