Kidz Klub Leeds exists to:- Promote the welfare of inner city children- To steer children away from petty crime, anti-social behaviour, substance misuse and other patterns of behaviour harmful to themselves and to their communities- Provide safe spaces for children to enjoy childhood where they are nurtured and cared for mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually- See inner city children mature into young adults with positive aspirations for themselves and their communities
Why the community needs usInner city Leeds suffers from some of the highest levels of child poverty in the UK, over 40% in some areas. This can lead to high levels of neglect, poor diets, low educational achievement and a lack of positive role models.Kidz Klub provides weekly Kidz Klub Sessions, an extensive home visiting programme, Community Work and inner city Schools Work.Kidz Klub reaches over 2,000 children each week in North, South, East and West Leeds: from Burley to Beeston, from Armley to Gipton.
Our impact on the communityA child who is involved with Kidz Klub is more likely to stay in school, stay away from drugs and show respect to others.Youth workers often comment that inner city children who have come through Kidz Klub are more attentive and understand boundaries better than their peers.Kidz Klub additionally provided practical support to over 150 families last year.Kidz Klub provides life changing work for children who often do not have any other stable and reliable source of positive support.
