Why the community needs usProviding young people with new opportunities in the community e.g learning new skills, acquiring social skills, being a member of teams and learn to work with others. Volunteering with the Scouts helps to improve our communities. The Scout Association is where it starts for many people who benefit from personal development, a sense of achievement, training and support. Scouting helps to build the confidence of young people and adults so they can take make an active contribution to society.
Our impact on the communityAll of our young members achieve awards and badges for learning new skills in each of the four training sections. The six year old Beaver Scout starts off by learning by doing and having fun. As they move through the sections, the activities and awards become more challenging until they reach adulthood. The adult volunteer will also be able to achieve certification through training, learning new skills and awards for service.
