Minding the Garden offers people who have experience of mental health problems the opportunity to be part of a supportive, safe and friendly gardening volunteer team, which helps to improve health and wellbeing.
Local garden owners also benefit by being able to access a competitively priced and good quality garden maintenance service.
The project also provides social and therapeutic horticultural activities enabling everyone in the community access to indoor /outdoor creative gardening fun.
Minding the Garden are able to offer a social and fun range of all-year-round calendar of activities to different client groups locally:-
- people with a learning disability
- people with dementia
- people with mental health stress
- people with a brain injury
The project is looking for much needed additional funding to help supplement the horticultural activities it runs.
Minding the Garden has been running for over 5 years and financial sustainability is key to the continued support to many vulnerable adults in the local community of Hart.
