Milton Keynes Chorale is Milton Keynes' premier choir, and aims to educate the public in music by the rehearsal and promotion of high-quality concerts of classical music four times a year, and through other activities such as open singing workshops. A thriving and friendly choir with around 120 members, we are proud to have been part of Milton Keynes' arts community for nearly 40 years. To achieve high standards we employ a professional conductor and musicians.
Why the community needs usThe Chorale serves the local community by enriching the lives of both its members and their audiences through our performances. It gives people in the Milton Keynes area the chance to hear choral music performed to a high standard, enabling them to appreciate the composer's work. Within a very large and active amateur music community, the Chorale provides singers with the opportunity to join us and enjoy the thrill of performing the major works of the choral repertoire with a large choir.
Our impact on the communityFor our members, singing is an important part of their lives - they are addicted to the feeling of wellbeing that it generates: "It's an amazing feeling singing in the choir ... and the buzz when it all comes together is great". Our audiences are loyal and enthusiastic too: "This choir could win prizes again, choir faces were radiant & smiling, the best concert I can remember". We also hold regular open singing days that attract about 80 people and generate some new members for the choir.
