Our Charity provides a once a week centre for 40 isolated older people living in the rural coastal strip between Rye and Hastings (Fairlight, Pett, Guestling, Three Oaks and Winchelsea) at Fairlight Village Hall.every Friday. The centre provides A healthy meal, transport, social activities. health education. For a cost of £5 a day. Many of our members are on low incomes. The centre is run by a part time coordinator and cook with volunteers.
Why the community needs usOur centre acts as a Community Hub for the rural area between Rye and Hastings. We assist people by directing them to community services i.e. Lifeline, Independant Living Service, Benefit help, health practitioners. People are transported into the centre, they enjoy a healthy home cooked meal, social activities, advice and help (form filling etc). Toe Nail cutting and all relevant community services can be accessed every Friday. We give special help to persons with dementia, and disabilities.
