Musicus is a social enterprise providing inspirational music education programmes and workshops for people of all ages in London. We offer both high quality group music making and unique performance opportunities to create a sense of community and togetherness through the arts. Our organisation promotes innovative and creative ensemble work, with performance opportunities for all - building confidence, artistic talent and above all fun.
Why the community needs us
We hope that those involved with Musicus will develop a lifelong passion for music through creative skills that they can continue to develop individually or within their community. We give our participants an opportunity to perform at the end of the programme. This final performance is crucial, providing a chance for the participants to celebrate their achievements, and gain recognition from friends and family.
Our impact on the community
Through Musicus, we aim to provide access to musical instrument learning activities that are unavailable because of constraints to funding. Those involved in the project also have limited extra-curricular opportunities in their area, and are often missing out on the opportunity to enjoy and benefit from creative expression. We want to challenge the preconceptions of what many people can expect to achieve.
