Manchester Youth Music Education Hub – MyHub provides high quality music teaching in schools across Manchester and works with a wide range of partner organisations to deliver new and innovative projects in schools and in the community.
MyHub –Manchester Music Trust has been formed to fundraise for projects that take place outside of formal education. For example MyHub runs eight music centres; two large centres, these have a mixed music offer and six small centres who focus on specific genres of music including: Irish, Russian, Folk and Steel Pans.
Our focus with these centres and projects is to give affordable access to any young person in the City. Over 65% of Manchester households are considered deprived in at least one dimension (based on employment, education, health/disability and/or housing). This indicates how there may be significant barriers for a large proportion of the population to engage with music in out of school settings
