Peterborough Association for the Blind was established in 1913 by a group of ladies and it has been supporting local visually impaired people ever since. Our aims are to help and support blind and partially sighted people, living in the Peterborough area, maintain their independence and quality of life by providing social events, befriending for isolated people, access to information, opportunities for learning, opportunities to try useful equipment and to meet other visually impaired people.

Isolation and loss of confidence often accompanies the trauma of losing your sight. Through our activities, we aim to help individuals regain their confidence and feel less isolated so that they can take a more active part in the community. Family and friends are encouraged to be involved and give support so that they too may benefit from having a more confident and independent person in their lives.

By being involved with the PAB, we believe that our service users will become much better informed people, who will meet many other people with sight loss, with whom they may share their problems and possibly become firm friends.
