
Newark Emmaus Trust is a registered charity that has been supporting and accommodating homeless young people since 1994.The project accommodates 29 young people aged 16 to 21 years old including 5 mum and baby residents. The Trust provides 24/7 support from a professional staff team . In house training in City & Guilds accredited courses is also provided to enable the young people to gain the qualifications and life skills needed for independent living.
Why the community needs usThe supported accommodation and training provided by Newark Emmaus Trust assists the young people to address issues that have resulted them becoming homeless.By developing social and life skills they are encouraged to increase their confidence and self esteem while reducing anti social behavior and offending resulting in the majority of the young people moving on into the community in a positive way. The skills they have learned help them become valued members of the community.
Our impact on the communitySince the Trust opened its doors in 1994 over 500 homeless young people have been accommodated and supported to change their lives moving them out of homelessness and into independence. Opportunities have been provided to achieve qualifications and life skills enabling them to live independently and gain employment
