Northampton | Counselling, Advice & Mentoring
We are a voluntary organization whose aims are to create an enabling environment for inspiration and achievement of Black/African and dual heritage families through a culturally competent & faith sensitive service. We also aim to build capacity for Black/African communities including those that have been granted refuge or seeking asylum, To support parents in a new or different culture, To celebrate diversity and promote equality, and to promote social cohesion between communities.
Why the community needs usOur benefits to the community are as follows: Family support; where we can improve life chances, Health & Well-being and also empower people. Youth Outreach; where we offer youth apprenticeship in order to improve educational attainment for young people by promoting positive self concept & high self esteem in preparation for adulthood in which they can contribute to the growth of their community & society at large. Mentoring and advocacy; where people can have a voice & have a sense of control.
Our impact on the communityWe hope to see a significant increase in the qualification and skills acquired by the apprentices, who may want to increase the credibility of their C.V's or to utilize the skills that they have acquired into their further education or other chosen paths. We also hope to increase the amount of support available for Black/Africans and dual heritage families and also young people in order for them to become more aware of their community and the opportunities it has to offer.
