We have two specially adapted respite centres in Wylde Green, a 12-bedded unit for the children up to the age of 18, and a 8-bedded unit for our adults. We fondly refer to our service users as our "guests." Our aim is to make their "home from home" environment somewhere safe and comfortable, where they have fun and engage in activities that develop them to their fullest potential. We also provide a full family support service.

Why the community needs us

Every penny of our donations benefits a child or adult with special needs who lives in our community. To give them safe and enjoyable respite time away from their families, which we believe, gradually promotes their independence, social and cognitive development. Donations contribute to essential specialised equipment in our respite centres and ability appropriate activities during our guest's stay, which benefits both the guest and their whole family unit.

Our impact on the community

Families seek support such as respite often at crisis point, and after coping in isolation for a long time in the most challenging of circumstances. Once families begin to use our service they find respite truly transforms family life for the better. It enables parents and carers to take a break, spend time with the guest's siblings. It's a lifeline for many families across the West Midlands, who endorse that without respite they would find it hard to cope day to day, physically and mentally.
