North Cave Playing Fields - Play Area Renewal and enhancement to provide better facilities for the village community as well as visitors to the playing fields.
North Cave Playing Field Association (NCPFA) (registered charity number 523277) is a Charitable Trust set up to maintain and manage the playing field for the sport and recreational benefit of the residents of the area. It is not a local authority run or owned facility but is managed and operated entirely by a team of volunteers.
There are four football teams and three Cricket teams based at the field. NCPFA also manages the Sports and Social Club, which provides bar, catering and changing facilities for the sports and social members, and the Play Area. At the start of 2024, the NCPFA raised funds and built a patio to enhance the social facilities and create a welcoming and attractive area for the use of the visitors and members.
The North Cave Play Area equipment is reaching the end of its life, being over 20 years old. NCPFA has applied for, and received, commuted sums from a local building development but this is only about a quarter of what is actually needed.
This project is seeking funding to be able to renew and enhance the play facilities to meet the requests from the young people, who responded to our engagement sessions. The intention is to provide a safe, accessible area with a wide range of activities for all abilities.
The play area not only serves the local community but also young people accompanying their parents/carers who come to use the main playing field facilities (cricket, football and Social Club), as well as visitors from further afield.
Everything donated here will help match the larger funding bids to help us achieve the funding target and a new play area.
Please help us get the funds to have the play area in operation before summer 2026.
