
We provide children and young people development services. Our principal is aim to inspire disadvantaged youths to 'Raise their social and academic aspiration to enable life choices'. Our activities include;- Providing casework to address social welfare needs- Specialist intervention projects focused on addressing welfare and wellbeing issue for disadvantaged young people and their parents.
Why the community needs usOptions 4 change as a charity helps its local community by providing unique services focusing on young people and their families. We focus primarily on supporting young people who are or at risk of being disengaged from society. Other work includes advocacy work for families and supporting them to disengage in dysfunctional lifestyles.This benifits the community avoiding social problems arising in the future, (prevention is better and cure).
Our impact on the communityOptions for change has embarked on a bold 12 weeks program called the Turnaround project which aims to deter and disengage young people age 13 to 19 youths from anti-social behaviour. The planned outcomes for the project is to break down their personal cycle of self destruction, understand the benefit of sustained hard work and ultimately changing their lives for better. On the 24/07/2012 14 young people graduated from the program with a significant change towards their attitude and ambitions.
