The Aim of the Scout Association is to promote the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials, as individuals, as responsible citizens and as members of their local, national and international communities. This is achieved by providing an enjoyable scheme of progressive training, based on the Scout Promise & Law and guided by adult leadership. The Group is governed by the Scout Association's Policy, Organisation & Rules.
Why the community needs usAround 50 local children are members of the Beaver Colony, Cub and Scout sections. Also local interest groups use the headquarter facilities for their regular club meetings. The young members of the Group, have the opportunity to develop their full potential within the local, national and international communities in which they belong.
Our impact on the communityOur Beavers, Cubs & Scouts are offered a varied & enjoyable programme of activities covering the areas of: Friendship/Community, Creativity, Promise, Global awareness, Fitness & Outdoor activities The young people are encouraged to work towards badges & awards at their weekly meetings & independently. The long term gain for our members is improved social skills, confidence & a sense of belonging.
