Pontardawe Town FC provides football coaching and matches to ages 6 (boys & girls) up to Senior (Men and Ladies). We are looking to raise more than £30,000 in order for the club to have a new clubhouse for parents, players and supporters at our Parc Ynysderw Ground. We are a friendly community football club run by volunteers who are trying to better ourselves. We are not an exclusive wealthy club with lots of funds.
Covid-19 has knocked the club’s progress, with the rules against large community gatherings causing massive damage to its ability to generate income to keep the club going – large fundraising events that are the lifeblood of the club, such as the annual Football Festival, Golf Day and other Club Events have been cancelled.
If the club can raise the money, it will have two major benefits.
Firstly, it will enable the club to generate much needed income, which initially will make up for the significant losses caused by Covid-19, and in the longer term will help the club improve its playing facilities and coaching offer.
Secondly, it will “enable us to launch the venue as a place where the whole community can come and take part in a host of wellbeing activities”.
Since we managed to obtain the lease from the council in 2015, we have been working to improve our facilities to maintain our status in the Football Association of Wales (FAW) Pyramid Structure. We do though desperately need a new clubhouse having had to sell our clubhouse in the village in order to help fund our move to Parc Ynysderw
So far we have raised enough funding to achieve FAW Criteria but we now need funds to purchase a portacabin type building and to equip the inside of the building to include a club room, kitchen, toilets. We already have planning permission for this agreed.
We have applied for grants to many, many organisations and have been successful in obtaining some grants but none of these grants have been made available for a clubhouse. We really need help to get us over the line, so please donate and share widely to help support our cause and most importantly the community
