
The club promotes activities such as meetings, lectures, excursions and other activities at the bequest of members and as appropriate shall engage in suitable fund raising efforts to promote these activities or the hiring of the club facilities to other organisations. Our club is open 4 mornings a week to meet socially and have coffee etc. We are open some afternoons and evenings for talks, film shows, and general entertainment (quizes, 'call by bluff', bingo etc).
Why the community needs usThis is the only Community Centre in this area, and has a membership approaching 100. We provide coach trips, film shows, outings, talks, and occasional meals.
Our impact on the communityOver the past few years we have obtained 6 computers plus a large wall mounted display. With this equipment we have provided FREE Computer Confidence workshops for parishioners. This has enabled many of the older generation to use computers, and some have even bought their own. There are no other computers available, free, in this village now that the Library has closed. Our outings and lunches, particularly Christmas are very popular.
