The aim of SLATE is to run an enterprise in south Leeds by providing work opportunities for people with learning difficulties. We collect people's good quality unwanted furniture and sell it on to new owners in our shop at affordable prices. We are therefore reducing furniture going to landfill, helping provide people with affordable furniture and we are offering work and social development to people with learning disabilities.

People with Learning Disabilites by providing work and volunteering for them to increase their skills, confidence and engagement in society. People who need affordable furniture who would otherwise be sleeping on the floor or would have no table for their children to do their homework on benefit from our service. And We also prevent the waste of many useable items that would go to landfill.

25 Volunteers a week with learning and other disabilities benefit from our work. 100s of customers a month get furniture that they they may not otherwise be able to afford. We save tons of furniture from going to landfill.
