Friends of Slough Foyer exists to raise and distribute funds for the support, wellbeing, training and education of young Foyer residents. Slough Foyer houses and supports young people aged 16 to 25 from East Berks and South Bucks who have experienced homelessness, are leaving care, or who have experience of the criminal justice system. We support young people into education, training and employment, and work with them to achieve their goals, and to transition successfully into adulthood.
Why the community needs usYoung people who may otherwise be a cause of anti-social behaviour are adding value and contributing to the local community, and as a result are less of a burden on other local services. During their stay at the foyer, all young people learn the skills of independent living, and how to live within a community.
Our impact on the community50 young people in education, training and employment. 40 young people attending an in-house lifeskils programme. 90% of young people moving on positively to live in the community.
