We provide support and friendship to older people living in thier own homes who may be suffering from loneliness and isolation by organising weekly activities icluding coffee mornings, lunch clubs, outings and a befriending service.
Why the community needs usLive at Home promotes community involvement with our services to users by our volunteers and so embracing the 'localism' agenda. With our volunteers we provide one to one befriending, transport to weekly friendship/social events, luncheon clubs and outings. Our work provides a connection with the community for those older people who live alone and wish to remain in thier own homes for as long as possible. Many have become isolated because of location and mobility issues and suffer loneliness.
Our impact on the communityOur scheme supports 90 older people in the Southwell area resulting in social inclusion and helping them to remain in their own homes and to combat isolation, loneliness and depression, enabeling them to remain positive and cheerful in their outlook and to feel valued.
