Members of staff at Space Engineering Services, a Bristol based refrigeration and air conditioning company, are undertaking the Three Peaks Challenge this summer to raise money for our Charity of the Year - The Teenage Parents Project. 16th February 2014: It's 9am on a sunny Sunday morning after a week of solid rain, we find ourselves in a lay-by just outside the small village of Axbridge in Somerset, ready to take part in our first practise walk up Crooks Peak. Ten very anxious people, some putting on new gear still with the tags on (Jamie Abbott) and others strapping up war wounds. After a few warm up exercises, we started our walk. Our guide for the day was Tony Mills who usually does the route with his mountain bike friends. The walk involved climbing up to the trig point of Wavering Down then down into Compton Bishop, and up to Crooks Peak. From Crooks Peak we descended to The Webbington Hotel on the other side and followed the footpath around the base of Crooks Peak back to Compton Bishop. Following this we ascended back up to the trig point on Wavering Down. We then returned on the same route as we started back to the lay-by in Axbridge. All completed with no blisters a just a few mild aches and pains. Well done to... Keith Harris, Brian Sealy, Tony Mills, Dave Foreshew, Jamie Abbott, Rhys Davies, Ed Mills, Lewis Barry, Sharon Hallet (Mrs Mills) and myself Andy Sealy.
