Our purpose is to give pre-school children with special needs the best possible opportunity to live fulfilling and independent lives. We do this by providing specialist play sessions for babies and children under 5 years old, as well as support and advice for parents and carers.
Why the community needs usWe run structured play sessions in our purpose-built centres at Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare, an outreach service in South Weston and an Early Years' Inclusion Service that provides access for children with additional needs to their local nursery or pre-school. We work in partnership with local education, health and social care professionals, and run training courses for our staff, our volunteers and other professionals.
Our impact on the communityWe have worked with over 900 children and their families since we started, and we currently work with over 90 children and their families per week. All our projects have been a success and are highly valued both by our users and the many partners with whom we work. The vital need for our services is demonstrated by our securing of a Commissioned Services Agreement with North Somerset Council and the North Somerset Primary Care Trust.
