Milton Keynes | After school clubs
The club is open to all children 8 to 15 years from within the Campbell Parish area and the surrounding estates. To help young people develop fair play through leisure time activities. To help them, by example, to show expression and develop mentally and physically. To grow to full maturity as individuals without prejudice. To respect other users of the club whatever race or belief.
Why the community needs usThe club is open to all children 8-19 years from within the Campbell Parish Area and the surrounding estates. They are open three nights a week and offer arts and crafts, computers (with controlled internet access), pool, table tennis, games, cooking, dancing and a place to hang out with friends. The club is used by a large number of disadvantaged young people, for home work and the use of the internet and computers for study purposes.
Our impact on the communitySpringfield Initiative Youth Group has been supporting local young people since 1996. Our work however was recently hindered, after an arson attack in April 2012. It is thought that this incident may have been racially motivated. The fire broke out just as the Campbell Park Parish Council were deciding to give Springfield Initiative £6,000,which would have further been matched by Milton Keynes Council.
