Street Pastors are local Christians who have a concern for their communities and are trained by professionals from different fields of expertise e.g. the Police and drugs awareness personnel. Their main role is to be available, to listen, care, support and to help. Their focus is young people, their aim to help them feel safe in their neighbourhood and give assistance where needed
Why the community needs usThe public will be served by the support and assistance which the whole community will receive from the active and positive work of the Christian faith community. This support will serve to give individuals a sense of self-worth and will enhance relationships within the community. The general public will enjoy a more peaceful environment, particularly in the evenings and at night. Street Pastors are volunteers and no charge is made for their sevices.
Our impact on the communityOfficial crime statistics have shown that in areas where Street Pastors are working, there is a significant reduction in crime and the community feels reassured. These facts have gained Street Pastors national approval and support.
