Storehouse is part of Bognor Vineyard They are a local church affiliated to a National Organisation of Vineyard Churches which was started in Bognor Regis in 2000. One of their main aims is to support those in the community who are socially and economically disadvantaged. This is reflected in several projects that they have set up as well as organisations that they are affiliated to. The Storehouse project is one of those. They want to see people enabled and empowered to live free from poverty
Why the community needs usWe receive referrals from many professional agencies in the Bognor area who have identified people/families who are in immediate need of basic furniture items. Although we have a waiting list for some items such as white goods, we are normally able to respond to a request and items will be delivered within a week from stock. Our free collection service ensures that many items of furniture are recycled and given to a good home.
Our impact on the communityThe people that we mostly provide a service to live within the top 10/20% areas of deprivation within Bognor Regis and Littlehampton. Many face difficulties including Mental Health Issues, Homelessness, Debt, Young Families & unemployment. One of our referers E-Mailed with the following feeback from a client that had been helped by Sotrehouse. 'Thank you and the team for the wonderful items which were delivered. XX phoned me very emotional and grateful saying 'Christmas has come early'.
