Poorly sighted members of the community provide a social meeting where our members can get together with friends, have a lunch & tea. Without this club the majority of members would be housebound. With a loss of sight comes lack of confidence and independence, we hope with our support both can be restored. Also a monthly outing is provided. We can provide access to information and equipment to aid members to an independent life.
Why the community needs usWe allow those members of the community disadvantaged by poor sight to have an opportunity to live 'normal' lives, where they can meet like minded and like sighted people so that they can better understand each other. We provide a socialisation aspect that otherwise people would not be able to achieve.
Our impact on the communityPeople will feel less isolated, have more social interaction, make new friends and continue to socialise in a way that will help to maintain their independence.
