We listen in confidence to those in emotional distress or despair including those at risk of suicide.We are always here for anyone in distress or despair, who needs someone to listen to them, face to face, by phone or by e-mail

Tamworth Samaritans continue to deliver support to vulnerable people experiencing Mental Health issues and/or are in crisis or at risk of self harm or suicide. Our vision for Tamworth and the surrounding area includesReduction in suicide/self-harmTo support those in crisis over the telephone, via e-mail and face to face, 24 hours per day, 365 days per yearTo work locally to increase awareness of mental health issues with the aim of reducing social stigma

Samaritans believe that 'prevention is better than cure' & this drives our 'outreach' program of talks and visits to places such as schools & community groups, where we can put forward the message that talking and being listened to can help individuals to find a way forward in difficult situations. We have a partnership with Swinfen Prison, where our branch trains prisoners who volunteer to be listeners.
