Supporting Gainsborough Community Library to offer more to the local community through raising funds and supporting new projects. Helping to offer a range of events and activities through the library to make a difference to the lives of the local community and raise aspirations, skills and well-being.
Why the community needs us
The library is open 7 days a week and offers a huge range of events and regular activities for people of all ages. Voices aim to promote the use of libraries and support library staff by developing cooperation between the library and the community and ensuring that all sections of the community have a voice within this; facilitating communication between local people and their local library in an empowering way. Our main focus for 2020 is to raise funds to build a community garden room for all.
Our impact on the community
Encourage the use of the library by underrepresented groups. Helping to recruit and organise volunteers for specific purposes to support the library and the running of Voices Café within the library, which leads to improved skills for local people.Fundraising, obtaining sponsorship and donations, through events and the voices café. Offering activities through the library in addition to the library core offer, enabling local people to gain new skills and improve their mental health and wellbeing
