To bring the people of Woodvale & Ainsdale together as a community, and to provide them with as many opportunities as possible to improve their quality of life. WACA aims "to promote a safe environment for all age groups by establishing and sustaining an adequate and appropriate range of services, support and provisions for and within the community".

Why the community needs us

WACA consists of 2 buildings within a half-mile radius of each other which comply with current DDA regulations. They are Woodvale Community Centre & WACA Recreation Centre. We aim to improve people's health and well being and to promote an enhancement of our community life by providing programmes to achieve a lively and active citizenship culture and empower all members of our community to reduce deprivation, build confidence, develop employability skills and grow community cohesion and spirit.

Our impact on the community

Local young people from deprived backgrounds will develop skills, and experience, gain accreditation, which will lead to enhanced employability. Local people will develop greater confidence and self esteem, enabling improved engagement within the community. Reduced levels of crime and anti social behaviour in the community. Older people will report improved health and wellbeing, and increased participation of activities, reducing isolation.
