Wells City FC provides football to all within the city and surrounding areas. We encourage both boys and girls to start them in Saturday Soccer and then in youth teams up to 18. At the senior level we have 5 teams and endeavour to play good football. We are highly rated by Somerset FA and are a FA Charter Standard Community Club, which is only awarded to 5% of clubs in the Country. In particular, it means that we are well run in the youth section

We believe that it is important to provide access to physical exercise for the youth in the area, and to give them an alternative to sitting at home or wandering the streets. We believe that it teaches skills to the youth and gets them used to working as a team, thereby creating team spirit. We have girls and boys teams, and have been particularly pleased to have started the girls section four years ago

In our youth section there have been several cases where we have been able to provide a sporting outlet for single parent families with no father present. We allow our clubhouse facilities to be used by SCC for their Safeguarding Children Courses Although there are successes as teams during their years in the youth section, we have a particular pride when youth players eventually play for the senior team.
