A community not-for-profit gymnastics club catering for all age groups and abilities.
West Hull Gymnastics Club is a community not-for-profit club offering gymnastics activities to all age groups from toddlers to adults. We are affiliated to British Gymnastics, the sport's governing body. Activities are differentiated according to the competence of each individual within the class. We aim to enable everyone to progress to their full potential through challenging but fun progressive skill learning alongside appropriate strength and flexibility exercises.
Why the community needs us
Improving the health of members, engaging teenagers in fun activities, instilling a life long interest in sporting activity: sports participation is recognised to improve the health and well being of communities and improve community cohesion. Our community is muticultural and deprived. Through sport children can see acceptance of differences, appreciation of skills and the strength of working together in action. They can make friends and keep those ties out in the community.
Our impact on the community
Our classes cater for all ages and abilities. Since the Covid lockdown it is more important than ever to engage children and young people in healthy, fun, physical activity, to restore their confidence and get them moving and challenging themselves. We aim to promote cohesion, multiculturalism and respect for others and ourselves through coming together in engaging, fun, challenging activities to help everyone achieve their best, with the opportunity for those with talent to progress further.
