To provide transport for elderly and disabled people, and some others, in Watchet, Williton, Washford and Old Cleeve.

West Somerset has a higher than average proportion of elderly people, and travel can be a serious problem for those unable to use a bus or afford a taxi. We enable many such people to access hospital and other health care, which accounts for more than half of the journeys we make. We also enable those who otherwise would be virtually housebound to visit friends and relatives, and to do their shopping, collect their pension or visit the library.

Our help is much appreciated and many have said they don't know what they would do without us. An ever-increasing number of journeys (now usually over 30 per week) indicates a widespread need. People use us to get to hospitals, doctors' surgeries, dentists, opticians and chiropodists, and many would certainly find it much harder if we were not there. We enjoy good relations with local taxi firms, and for that reason we require 48 hours notice and do not undertake emergency journeys.
