We are a small pre-school managed by a committee of parents. We aim to get the children in our care ready for school in a fun and friendly environment. A maximum of 14 children may attend at any one time. The pre-school operates from the groundsof the village primary school and works in close partnershipwith the school. It serves the local communit, catering for the children between the ages of two and five.

Ashwater lies in rural Devon. There are a few local services and extremely limited public transport. As a result the playgroup offers a vital service to families in our community. Not only do we provide care and education for the pre-school children, we run a toy library and mother and toddler group. we include local families in running the group and during events and in this way bring people together from across the area. The group also provides a vital feed of children into Ashwater School.

Our commitment to the children in our care and their families is shown in the results of our 2 latest OFSTED inspections where we were judged to be outstanding in all areas. our sucsess is also demonstrated by the large number of children attending the group and the resultant rising roll at Ashwater Primary School. We are proud to be able to send well prepared, educationally happy, socially confident children on to the next steps in their school life.
