527 people are diagnosed with cancer every week in Yorkshire. You're more likely to get cancer and more likely to die from it than if you live almost anywhere else and that's an outrage. Yorkshire people deserve the same chance of a cancer free life as anyone else and together today, we can fund research and provide practical support that gives us the same chance of survival as everyone else.
Why the community needs usThere is a clear North-South divide in terms of deaths from cancer and Yorkshire has higher incidence rates for many of the most common cancers. We work collaboratively towards saving lives, prolonging life and improving the quality of life of cancer patients in Yorkshire.
Our impact on the communityMen aged 65-74 in Hull are 34% more likely to die from cancer than men in the rest of England. We are funding a 5 year major investigation into inequalities faced by cancer patients in East Yorkshire.
